Project: Poster to promote the event READY? FLYTE!
Flyting was a ritual and poetic exchange of insults, often in verse, between two or more parties. It was a popular genre of entertainment in Scotland’s Middle Ages.
The School of History, Classics and Archaeology of The University of Edinburgh created this flyting contest in order to recreate this poetic action and shared the fascinating connections between flyting and distributed cognition.
It was created an abstract illustration to represent the connexions in our brains and the tensión of this bad and dirty language used during the fights, encompassed in a medieval aesthetic.
